School History
Phyl's Academy Preparatory School was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1979. The founder was a registered nurse by the name of Phyllis Frempong-Boadu who saw the desperate need for good, affordable, and quality day care. Phyl's Academy provided a curriculum that challenged and nurtured the early childhood students at tuition costs affordable to working parents who wanted the best for their children.
This quality service quickly flourished, doubling its initial enrollment in the first year through the old fashioned advertising from satisfied parents. Since its modest start, Phyl's Academy Preparatory School has expanded to include Day Care, Elementary School, Middle School, After-School care, and Summer Camp. In 1998, the Fort Lauderdale campus of Phyl's Academy was opened and today fills the needs of hundreds of students and their families.
